Good Day All.

I am having a problem with a server that is a DC, DHCP DNS Server and also
has Exchange 2000 server. After installing some file synchronisation
software and rebooting, my Exchange server seems to be queing all mail
internal and external. All other aspects of the server seem fine.

None of this mail is delivered successfully and the queue seems to grow.
(PreSubmissionQueue).

I have rebooted this machine and uninstalled the synchro software and have
noticed the following event log entries in order.

NETLOGON - 5781 - Dynamic registration or deregistration of one or more DNS
records failed because no DNS servers are available.

RSVP - 10035 - This host can not be ACS since the Active Directory has not
been properly configured via the QoS ACS management console. Please
configure the subnets via the QoS ACS mangement console.

W3SVC - 101 - The server was unable to add the virtual root '/public' for
the directory 'M:\grosvenor-eu.com\Public Folders' due to the following
error: The system cannot find the path specified. The data is the error
code.
For additional information specific to this message please visit the
Microsoft Online Support site located at:
http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp.

Schannel - 36871 - A fatal error occurred while creating an SSL server
credential.

I would be greatful if someone could offer some troubleshooting tips.

Kind Regards
Paul Johnson.

What is this synchronization software, and what does it do, what ports does
it use, and any other pertinent info may help in understanding it and what
effects it may cause do to any possible conflicts.

grow. (PreSubmissionQueue).

Seems to be causing communication issues with Active Directory, since
Exchange uses AD for functionality. If AD is not available, the Exchange
servers cannot retrieve their config info from the Config Container in AD,
so certain services may fail to start.
I have rebooted this machine and uninstalled the synchro software and

NETLOGON - 5781 - Dynamic registration or deregistration of one or

Make sure you are only using the internal DNS in IP properties. Remove any
external (such as an ISP'S) DNS server Ip from IP properties.
RSVP - 10035 - This host can not be ACS since the Active Directory
has not been properly configured via the QoS ACS management console.
Please configure the subnets via the QoS ACS mangement console.

Are you using QOS? Did that synchronization software install or configure
it? You can disable that in services. You can also uncheck it in the NIC
properties. On the other hand, if you want to use it, see this about this
error:
http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=10035&eventno=488&source=RSVP&phase=1

W3SVC - 101 - The server was unable to add the virtual root '/public'
for the directory 'M:\grosvenor-eu.com\Public Folders' due to the
following error: The system cannot find the path specified. The data
is the error code.

Common error on any Exchange server. Ignore the error. We all do. If you
don;t like the red stop signs, you can stop and restart the website, and
refresh the screen to get rid of them. This is due to startup timing. AD
starts after IIS, but IIS is looking for that root, so it's not available
yet, since Exchange didn't start yet to start the ExIFS service, which gives
the virtual M: drive (the \\.\backoffice root) , which all depends on AD.
Schannel - 36871 - A fatal error occurred while creating an SSL server
credential.

I believe the above error is caused by the previous errors. We need to dig
into what that software did to the machine.

What other Event ID errors are you getting?
Run these tests:

dcdiag /v > c:\dcdiag.txt
netdiag /v /fix > c:\netdiag.txt

What errors show up?
