Netgear Router connection problems

I have a Windows XP laptop, with a Netgear DSL modem
internet gateway.

It does connect to the internet, but it loses the signal
after a few minutes, and stops a lot of communications.

Settings seem to be fine.
 
This problem seems to happen more frequently with Netgear routers coupled with a newer Centrino laptop. I just encountered this problem with a customer. Go to Netgears site (www.netgear.com) and download the new bios update for the router. That completly solved our problem and now it works like it is supposed to. Netgears site lists complete instructions on how to do the upgrade. It's VERY simple and you'll be up and running in less than 5 minutes
