I'm trying to install a Netgear FA410TX PC card in an older Sony Vaio, the
PCG-F610. I've used this NIC in a variety of computers, including this Dell
Latitude D600 (Win XP) I'm typing on now. (I have a few of these NICs, and
would love to use one if at all possible)
The problem appears to be that the Vaio doesn't ID the card properly when it
is inserted. It calls it "MTD-0002" where other machines (an IBM I fooled
with) ID the card as Netgear FA410TX. As a result, the drivers won't load,
even the built-in XP driver for the FA410TX.
:-(
Any ideas?
Question 2...this machine has a 1394 plug...other than video cameras, what's
this good for?
