Netgear FVS318 Problems

Hey all,

I have a FVS318, I am able to use it locally to share files etc. However,
it does not all ways work with our ADSL internet connection, often it is
able to connect to instant messaging, but no websites, and usually it will
connect to neither. It is successfully delegating IP addresses, and is able
to see our Alcatal ADSL modem fine.

I have reset the firewall, and also upgraded the firmware. I have also
tried this on many different machines, so am pretty confident that its a
problem with the FVS318.

Any ideas or suggestions would be great, even if it is condemming me back to
my retailer.

I don't know what you mean by "tried this on many different machines",
but it sounds like you might be another Casualty Of Telstra (COT).
 
"tried on other machines" - i meant tried to connect to the internet through
the firewall on 3 different machines - i did this to eliminate the
possibility of the problem being on one of the machines. (i know that's
unlikely, but im at wits end).

Yes it is Telstra Bigpond too
is there a common problem?

My response was a bit sloppy; I meant that your ADSL line may be
underperforming. I think you are justified in asking Telstra to check
it out.
