I current have a network running NetBUEI and TCP-IP. I
Use the TCP-IP part of the network to VPN into one of our
other office.. When I try to get a connection to any
servers on our Local Area Network while VPN'ed in to our
other office we get no connection.. I thought NetBUEI
would take care of the local area connection while the IP
portion was connected to our other office... Help Please

Can you typically connect the the LAN when not VPN'ing? You really
shouldn't need NetBUEI if everything is TCP/IP..

Is there, perhaps, a problem with network addressing? I.e., does the LAN
and the network you are vpn'ing to have an overlapping subnet?

I vpn to a network in with private addresses in the range of 10.10.10.x,
however, my LAN at home is 192.168.0.x... I can contact any machine, over
the VPN or local, w/o any problems, all at the same time.

NetBEUI doesn't route, so you can't connect to a NetBEUI system via a
RAS or VPN connection. Swicth to TCP/IP, or use remote management
software to take over a workstation with TCP/IP that's also on the
NetBEUI protocol.

He indicated that he was using NetBEUI for LOCAL connections... not for
connections requiring routing.
