Windows 2K defaults to the Netbios username in AD when a
user logs in (pre-Windows 2000 name).This present a
problem if the users name has more then 20 characters.
Unless the user logs in with @domainname after their login
name. Is there any way to change this? Was this changed in
Windows 2003?

Thanks,

Jim Hill, MCP

When you logon if you use the dropdown box it uses the samaccountname which has legacy rule requirements regarding
length. If you use upn's to logon you don't have this issue. In the user id box type (e-mail address removed) and the domain
dropdown will grey out.
