Windows Server 2000 ; SP4
Problem on two servers, Exchange 2000 member and on the Domain Controller
When the machine boots up, there are 3 entries in the Event Log that say:
Error 4311 "Initiliation failed because the driver device could not be
created"..
C:\Ipconfig /all
-> NetBios over TCP/IP is Disabled..
TCP/IP settings "Enable Net Bios Over TCP/IP checked".. OK
Uninstalled the TCP/IP stack and re-installed the TCP/IP stack, at this
point it was working but only for a short time.
Anyone ??
Is it possible to disable Netbios with GPO's (not the DHCP scope setting)?
Are some RPC registry settings related to Netbios?
Thanks for your input.

This gives a look a like of the problem....
1.. Right-click My Computer on the desktop, and then click Manage.
2.. Expand System Tools, and then select Device Manager.
3.. Right-click Device Manager, point to View, and then click Show hidden
devices.
4.. Expand Non-Plug and Play Drivers.
5.. Right-click NetBios over Tcpip, and then click Disable.
