Examination of FBALOG.TXT reveals that snetcfg.exe is returning an 0x4a020
exit code when the MS_NETBIOS argument is present. Does this indicate an
error? I am assuming yes. How do I find out what this error means?

Thanks in advance

Sorry about the confusion, I looked at the log and noticed the error and I
thought they were related.

I'm still having a problem getting the sockets call to work. The error
returned by the Windows api is:

WSAEAFNOSUPPORT

I've got this error before under XP Pro, and it was always do to the fact
that Netbios was not installed. This protocol show up in the Local Area
Connection Properties sheet as

NwLink Netbios

NWLink IPX/SPX/Netbios Compatible Transport Protocol

Assuming that I have the right components, how do I get this protocol
installed by default when FBA runs? If it functions like XP Pro, then this
protocol is not installed by default. Is there some setting that forces it
to install?

Thanks

-Jeff-

So from your description i'm not so sure it's a netbios issue as much as
it's an nwlink issue, correct me if i'm wrong.

If correct, make sure you have the Ipx / Spx Transport stack component,
which I believe contains the nwlink netbios functionality you're looking
for. Also, see the thread from last Friday called "IPX on XPe" with Bill's
explanation of an issue/workaround WRT ipx/spx.

Whoa, you're going to ship a product running XPe that hosts an EA game?
Sweet!
