Hi all

I recently bought a micronet printserver that uses NetBeui Protocol to work, well, i added the protocol con win2k machines with no problem, i want to do that on a XP Professional and i see that is not supported (at least by default) so i found this document: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;301041&sd=tech

That says how i can i enable netbeui under Windows XP Professional, well, i do it, i could add the printer share but now the computer hangs everytime i want to print, this is, show print dialog, properties, and everything related, i know netbeui is causing the problem because i disabled it and now everything works fine.

What can i do? do i need some tweak to netbeui protocol under XP ?

Please help me, i really need a solution for this.

Why do you need to use NetBeui? I haven't used it for years. It cannot be
the only protocol that the server supports. Windows XP uses TCP/IP as
standard, why can't you use that? If the server really is that old (and it
must be if it only supports NetBeui) why on earth didn't you purchase
something newer?

No. I feel like shit. You can make yourself useful and find me a dentist.
I've tried several times and failed miserably. I have the grandmother of all
toothaches (abscess I suspect), cannot find a dentist to treat me (because
I'm on benefits and, therefore, exempt) and my GP "doesn't supply medication
for dental issues" (her words).

It doesn't help that I am a) extremely phobic and b) don't have any
transport.

If you can, I'd be incredibly grateful.

Love

Sarah

P.S. I've been forced to search for antibiotics on line but I cannot
purchase anything because I do not have a credit card.

Hi Sarah

Can you please email me with the name and address of your preferred dentist?
I'll see what I can sort out 4 U. Don't you dare go and get any drugs
online!!!!

Please don't make a private chat of my problem !!!!!! :@
Is not a Server, is a print server, and that's the best i could afford, so
please if you do not have the solution say nothing ok?

That's the wonder of newsgroups... little Miss Terspicacia Prick would chew
you out and teach you a lesson on proper posting in normal circumstances.
But she can turn it into her private chat lounge any time, like a true
hypocrite.

Contact Micronet. They may have a suggestion. XP used TCP/IP by default
and doesn't like mixing and matching protocols.
