I have the visual basic .net framework. Haven't been able to get it installed
successfully yet. Always aborts at the 99% mark. But the actual question is, is
that the same .net framework as ATI is referencing below ?
And if yes, how do I get this thing installed without aborting at the 99% mark
?
I have the visual basic 6 learning edition. It installs and removes fine.

There's a bunch of fixes to this that make me want to see if it will install.
I've had nothing but bad luck with ATI. I can only assume they were designed
for MAC's.
AIW 128 never worked right, upgrades were impossible to install. Initial setup
required a long distance call to Canada.

AIW9800 I got put on ignore with the phone support this time because my online
registration didn't take. They don't have a computer showing I bought their
stupid thing ?.
Tried to upgrade twice since installing the aiw9800. Finally went back to
initial installation from CD, and swore I'd not use anymore upgrades.
Too many fixes and upgrades in this version to not try to upgrade again. Just
need to make sure I have several backups of the setup and all b4 trying.

There is not a specific VB.net framework. The framework will support any of
the 20 .Net languages. I think that you might be trying to install the SDK
which you don't need. I would recommend that you do to
microsoft.com/downloads and then searching for .net framework 1.1. This
software should install on any version of Windows after 95. As far as ATI,
just remember that you want to install all of the drivers and software BEFORE
you install the new card. This is not necessary with the nVidia cards.
Otherwise, your ATI card should work just fine.

I couldn't get the VB .net CD to install, and picked up .net 1.1. We'll see if
it installs. lIIRC someone slammed .net here just recently.

Ya'd think if that were true, it'd be in big red lettering when you open the
installation guide.
The 1st install from the CD almost always takes more than 1 try to get it
installed.

No they just tell once you once you make it past the week of crap trying to get
it all working to ignore when it boots when it asks to install xxxxx.driver.

Then there's the thing install with a plain VGA . Even with my old monitor
there is NO plain VGA setting. not even booting into safe mode. or using the
VGA boot mode off F8.

ATI was designed for gear heads and the lack of documentation bears that up.

crap .net is part of XP's OS. But naturally ATI doesn't bother to mention these
tiny glitches.
How did I find out .net was part of the XP OS you ask ?
just tried to use the 'Help and support' section from the start menu. 1st thing
it asks after hitting find is you need .net xxxxx to use this function.

Once again we need to do a rollback thank you ATI. But I'm guessing a rollback
will just screw things up worse.

I don't recommend removing .net in the add/remove section. That might explain
why I couldn't install the VB .net. A newer better version was already
installed.

Well nothing I didn't expect, but have no idea how to cure it now.
Installed the .net 1.1, installed the new aiw9800 upgrade, only had to rollback
everything to the this date last year, reinstall all the above again, reinstall
SP2 again, reinstall all the online updates, and now it's telling me Trend
virus is out of date. It isn't..

In the security center it's red lettered the section on the virus and called it
out of date. I have it set to DON'T monitor, but it's still monitoring.

I expected a day or week of attempting to reinstall video drivers, never
suspected it'd go for the SP2 upgrade.
