net view, a few will not

Have a few 2k boxes that do not appear in 'net view' browse list.

I've done a tcp and client properties comparison between a does and a don't,
and can't see anything different.

Tcp is dhcp. I can ping the names of the don'ts fine.
All members of the same domain ... etc.


Which one of the uS switches did I pull by mistake?

Thanks for any ideas.
 
what's the system error when net view these computers?

"There are no entries on the list"

Symptom: when using net view \\remotecomputer command, you may receive
"There are no entries on the list". And you may have a problem to access the
remote computer.

Resolution: 1) If there are no file or print shares on the computer, the net
view command displays a "There are no entries in the list" message. So, make
sure there are file or print shares on the computer. Or to use net share
command to check sharing status.
2) Make sure no firewall running because the firewall may block sharing.
3) Make sure client for ms network is enabled.

This PC has some problems. Everything SEEMS to work ok but
will not appear on the net view browse list (explore empty too).
Tried to 'reset' the account by:
removed from the domain (moved to a work group); rebooted.
renamed; rebooted
joined to the domain; rebooted.


The PC appears in the ad; can be managed; pinged, mS WMI browser fails
to connect. Users can log into the domain.

The PC has shares c$, admin$ ... uS client is installed; no firewall

The reason it could not register was because the
DNS server refused the dynamic update request.

To register a DNS host (A) resource record using
