Hi!

I have a Windows 2000 Domain Mixed Mode with 50 Windows NT WKS connected to
it. I tried to put the "net time" line on my logon script so everytime a
user logs on, his PC System Time will be sync to the whole domain but it
seems it doesn;t work for an ordinary Domain user. I just notice that when I
will run the same script on a Domain Admin, it works! Is it possible for a
Domain user to change system time? I tried to change it on the DOmain
Controller Security Policy and it failed to do so.

Hoping for your response.

Hi Mark,

You'll have to allow domain users permissions to change the system time on
'Every PC'

It's a bit of a pain on NT4 although the W32TIME service sorts it on Win2K.

You can do it remotely although I cannot remember excactly how

It's something like \\pcname /usmgr

Hope this helps

You'll need to grant domain users the right to change system time on the NT
workstations....

Actually, I have set Everyone to change their system time but still they are
access denied(we are talking on WNT WKS), only admins can change their time
that is why we will logon to our admin account then logoff to sync their
time to the domain.

Hi Mark,

When you say you've set everyone to change their system time, Have you been
to every PC with the problem?

Yes I am Chris, I've seen it. Even when I try to change it on the control
panel or double-click the clock on the task bar it says that I am not
allowed.

I suspect what Chris meant is, have you set "users are allowed to change
system time" on each PC?
