Some of my problems seem common with other people, but
then again not totally the same...?

I have a WinXP home edition computer and a Win98SE
computer. The Win98SE is connected via wired network to
a wireless DSL router. The WinXP machine connects to the
router via wirless.

I can Ping either computer from either direction. From
the Win98 machine, I can see all the shares, but the XP
machine doesn't know that a network exists. Internet
works fine on both computers.

When browsing to network places\entire network\ms windows
network (on the XP machine) I get the error message
that the service is not started.

I go to console and type "net start workstation" and get
the error that the specified module is not found...

I'm really lost here now. I've removed and re-installed
all networking components at least once...

Any help will be appreciated... and I will try to re-pay
by posting here with anything that I may be able to help
with.

Thanks in advance

Thank you for the reply. However the information at the
link you provided still leaves me in the same boat.
The error message that I get regarding "specified module
not found" does not seem to get dealt with anywhere in the
microsoft support pages. If I have a module that is
corrupt or not installed, how do I rectify that problem?

The link provided is very good, and I appreciate it.

Thanks again.

The workstation service is in this file, does it exist?

\windows\System32\wkssvc.dll
