Net Send stops working after install MSAS

I am guessing that when MSAS installs it closes a lot of
ports, does anyone know what ports need to be enabled for
Net Send? I use it as a quick way to advise users of
issues or announcements but the few that have had MSAS
installed report "The message alias could not be found on
the network" and they also report fewer items when viewed
using NBTSTAT. Any Ideas or helpfull suggestions?

It doesn't close a port - it simply stops the Messenger Service in Windows
(same as XP SP2 does). You can re-start the service if you like.
 
MSAS prompts you to shut down the messenger service, which is what
happened. This is why you can no longer 'net send' anyone.
