.NET SDK (2.0 or 3.5) and VS 2008

I have heard two different responses and was curious......

I have installed Visual Studio 2008 Professional. Is there anything to be
gained from installing the SDK's?

Mainly depends on what you are after doing. but most SDK's allow you to
modify or create things / object / application or even behaviour of windows.
