Hi,

I heard someone just say that Radeon 98xx cards aren't *fully* DX9 hardware
compliant? and that the next batch of card will be?

What's that all about?

Depends on your definiton of "fully". If you mean by "fully" every single
solitary feature of DirectX 9 is hardware accelerated, no, the ATIs don't
do it and neither do the nvidias and neither does any other board. If you
mean that the board passes Microsoft's certification test for DirectX 9
compliance then both ATI and nvidia do that. If you mean "gives really
good performance in applications that make extensive use of the new
features of DirectX 9" nobody is really sure how that's going to shake out
but for the moment ATI seems to be doing better than nvidia.
