help, can not stop net. messenger from automatically
signing me in on a public computer, and am not able to
access the advanced tab on user accounts

Greetings,

There is no advanced tab that you need to go into -- if you're reading one of my so-called
tips on the Windows XP ExpertZone, someone messed it up when it was posted and is incorrect.

Regardless, since this is a public computer, just download and run this .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/disablenetcreds.reg
then reboot the computer. This should disable the Passport sign-in list, and prevent others
from saving their Passport.

If you don't have the "permissions" to do this, the actual way to fully remove your saved
Passport is to click the Start Button, then click the Control Panel. Then, click User
Accounts in the Control Panel. Select your account name, and then on the left side of the
screen, under Related Tasks, click 'Manage my Network Passwords'. In the window that opens,
click the Passport.Net\* (Passport) entry and click 'Remove'.
