Greetings Marie,
It depends what you mean by "Net Messenger" -- there are two .NET Messenger clients that can
be installed on Windows XP, Windows Messenger (which comes with Windows XP) and MSN
Messenger.
It's not recommended that you remove Windows Messenger, as it's an integrated part of Windows
(and is used in Outlook Express, Remote Assistance and several other features and
applications). Instead, you can stop it from loading by opening the main Windows Messenger
window, click the Tools menu, then Options, then Preferences tab, then uncheck 'Run this
program when Windows starts' and click OK. If you really want to remove Windows Messenger,
you can do so by doing the following -- close down Messenger if it's running (right click the
messenger icon in the notification area/system tray and click close). Then click the start
button, then click Run and type in (copy-paste if you like):
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
Then click OK.
Messenger will then be uninstalled. For more detailed instructions and screenshots, go to,

If you're referring to MSN Messenger (although highly unlikely), you can remove it at any
time by clicking Start, then Control Panel, then Add or Remove Programs, click MSN Messenger
(5 or 6) and then click the 'Remove' button.
