net messages

Hi,
I have a question. Does anyone know of a free windows program that
will run under win2k that will allow me to send and receive messages to
the other machine running win2k on the network? A popup type of program
that will pop up on the other machine, ring a bell/alarm with a simple
message.

That function is built into Windows.

Open a command prompt (cmd.exe)
Type:
NET HELP SEND
Press [Enter]

The "Messenger" service must be running for "NET SEND" to
