I seem to have TWO installs of .NET on my system.
How do I get rid - I thik it goes back to a duff update a while back.

In your Administrative tools window you should see the following:

Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1
Microsoft .Net Framework Wizards
Microsoft .Net Framework Configuration 1.1
Microsoft .Net Framework Configuration

So you should have Two copies. The 1.1 is a later version than the previous
one and is also needed.

What do we do if we only have one version of .NET installed? I have not
installled .NET myself, but .NET Framework 1.1 was installed when I
installed PrintShop 20.

All that was installed was .NET Framework 1.1, .NET Framework Wizards 1.1,
and .NET Framework Configuration 1.1 (by the way, only .NET Framework
Wizards 1.1 and .NET Framework Configuration 1.1 shows up in my
Administrative Tools folder. .NET Framework 1.1 shows up in the "Add/Remove
Programs" wizard in Control Panel)

If you eventually install a program that requires the other version of the
..NET framework, visit Windows Update to download/install.
