Hi All
Any ideas on this would be good - maybe there is no way round it but worth a
try.
As the only user of my XP Pro laptop (not connected to a domain), when
booting up, Windows would not ask me to click my name to log in on the
welcome screen (as there would have been only one name and this would be
pointless) - in fact I never saw the welcome screen - it just loaded
straight to desktop. Of course this meant I could start it up, go do
something and it would be ready to go when I went back to it.
Last night I installed the .Net Framework because something I was trying to
install required it.
Now whenever I boot up, I get taken to the Welcome Screen and have to click
my name! I am the only user listed and it is annoying. Having looked under
User Accounts I see a new (obviously hidden) account called "ASP.NET Machine
A...". I assume this was added by the .Net Framework and is the cause of my
problem.
Can anyone tell me if I can get back to the situation where I bypass the
Welcome Screen and go straight to desktop upon booting. Maybe deleting this
"ASP.NET Machine A..." user would fix the issue, but I didn't know if that
would mess up the Framework.
Help please.
