Hello,

I'm using Visual Studio .NET 2003 Academic with .NET Framework 1.1
Is it possible for me to install the .NET Framework 2.0 without losing anything or was the .NET Framework 2.0 made for the Visual
Studio .NET 2005 version? Can someone clarify please?

Max.

The installation will not effect your 1.1 framework or apps(including
vs2003). You cant use vs2005 without the v2 of the framework but you
can use the new framework without vs2005. Hope this helps.

Should I uninstall the 1.1 framework prior to installing the 2.0 redistributable package and SDK or does the new package override
the old one? I can't find any article that says to remove the 1.1 before installing the 2.0.

Thanks,
Max.

Should have mentioned that if you remove the old framework vs2003 will
not work nor will any apps created for that version of the framework.

Maybe I should also ask:
Are there any benefits if I upgrade from .NET Framework 1.1 to 2.0 if I'm using Visual Studio .NET 2003 Academic?

Thanks,
Max.
