i have been trying to re-install my Net Framework 1.0 installation after I
tried to uninstal it and it timed out on me. I had to kill it using the task
manager and now when I try to install again it times out everytime! I used
the windows update utiility and tried the exe also but they both just lock up
during the install?? Is there some way to manually delete these files and
dirs so I can do a fresh installation again? Or a better way to get it done?

Also I need to install the Net Framework 2.0.50727 to run the aircrack-ng
suite of WEP cracking software. I tried to install it a few times and it also
locks up/times out in teh same place each time- IIS Admin?? I tried to find
out a bit more about this using the search function and also looked in the
task manager but nuthin, a few .dll's in the search.

What can I do to remedy these two sluggish packages on my terminal? I'm
bummed right out about this because it has trashed two days of time so far
(sort of) trying to figure out! Please help--jaydag71

Does windows update complete?
The first thing I would try is to ensure you have all the updates from
Windows update. That should include the dot net frameworks.

You don't have to uninstall 1.x to install 2.x. They can live on the same
machine with no problems.
Have you tried doing a repair install on the 1.1 framework?

If both are failing it sounds to me like something else is wrong on your
machine. If the IIS stuff is hanging make sure your IIS is working
correctly, or uninstall IIS if you don't need it.
