.NET Deployment to large drives fails - update

I have a client for whom I have developed several ASP.NET applications and
web services.

They recently upgraded their web servers to very large (>2TB) storage
capacities.

I tried installing the applications on an array of approximately 1TB in
size, and the setup fails with disk-size errors there as well

Now, the setup.exe packages created by my ASP.NET deployment projects will
no longer install -- as they report that there is insufficient disk space
available for the installation.

The client is not enthused about this.

As a short-term solution, I have installed the code using good-old Xcopy and
it works that way, of course, but the client want their "Add/Remove
Programs" interface capability back.

What is the solution?

my bet is that the setup engine you are using is borking with an overflow.

to confirm this try installing it onto a drive that is substansually
smaller - if the setup engine has no issues then you may have nailed the
problem.

i may be wayy off track but i thaught i wold give it a go - good luck
 
Yes, I realize that the setup.exe is having a problem with the large
drives -- and yes it works fine with smaller drive partitions. It is only
after the large drive upgrades that the installation problems occur.

Unfortunately none of these facts make the client any happier, or the
process any less broken.
