XP PRO SP2. I installed some software that brought with it the .NET stuff. Now I get
either a user logon screen, or a password promt when I start the machine(depending on
whether Use the Welcome Screen is checked). The sign off dialog changed to one with a
drop-down instead of the buttons. A user was also set up for .NET.
How can I get back to a dialog free sign-on, and the other style sign off?
TIA

Mike,

Enabled the Welcome Screen.

Control Panel > User Accounts > "Change the way......."

Thanks Ramesh -
That did it for the password/logon. Any thoughts on the log off?

Ramesh -
Thanks, but you mis-read the question I think. I don't want the welcome screen. The last
question was about the logOFF dialog, not logON. What I'm getting now is a dialog box with
a dropdown instead of buttons. I want the one with buttons.
Mike

Yes. Enable the Welcome Screen and see what happens to the shutdown dialog.

My apologies. You are correct, and I'm a happy camper. I thought the welcome screen was
something else. Thanks!

You're welcome Mike.
