.NET.....3.0 Install errors!

I've downloaded a new video editing program that requires .Net Framework 3.0
to operate. I've downloaded it from MS and when I try to install it I get the
following errors:
[09/11/08,23:24:37] Windows Communication Foundation: [2] Error:
Installation failed for component Windows Communication Foundation. MSI
returned error code 1603
[09/11/08,23:24:48] WapUI: [2] DepCheck indicates Windows Communication
Foundation is not installed.
[09/11/08,23:24:48] WapUI: [2] DepCheck indicates Microsoft .NET Framework
3.0 was not attempted to be installed.
[09/12/08,01:33:38] Windows Communication Foundation: [2] Error:
Installation failed for component Windows Communication Foundation. MSI
returned error code 1603
[09/12/08,01:33:55] WapUI: [2] DepCheck indicates Windows Communication
Foundation is not installed.
[09/12/08,01:33:56] WapUI: [2] DepCheck indicates Microsoft .NET Framework
3.0 was not attempted to be installed.

I've tried several times and get the same errors. The links on the error
page don't work so I have no Idea what to do! What must I do get this to
work. Thanks for your help!?

A step by step process to download .NET Framework 3.0 would be greatly
appreciated

"Supported Operating Systems: Longhorn (Windows Code Name) ; Windows Server
2003 Service Pack 1; Windows Vista; Windows XP Service Pack 2"

I would remove all versions of the .NET framework.

Then install .NET 2.0 SP1, followed by .NET 3.0 SP1

I tried to uninstall .net framework 2.0. I have a Windows installer error:
"the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is
unavailable"
click okay to try again, or entered an alternate path to a folder containing
the installation package "NDP20KB928 365-v2-86.msp"

I searched my computer and cannot find the above program.

When I closed the uninstall program it asked to send an error message to
Microsoft which I did.

HELP! :-)

Hi Again,
I just did a Microsoft update check and it said that I needed the following:
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 (KB110806) (x86). So I
downloaded it and got the following:
"Some updates were not installed" Further checking I found the following
error code:
"Error Code: 0x643 " So i tried to find it on Microsoft and my search turned
up absolutely nothing.
