I get these files back onto my computor if we are unable to use nero as a
program.

everybody here has been saying that VISTA is BETA and as such should not be
used as your primary system on your primary computer.............
where were you when all of this was going on????

You mean to say that you backed up your stuff from your OS and replaced that
OS with Vista *BETA* and now you're asking how to regain those files?

Well...I'll bite...

Other than the fact that you have screwed yerself over, you can try getting
Nero 6 and hope that it will open your backup files from your Nero 7. If
you used any version other than v7 to do the backup, then I'm simply going
to say to read the posts from the people...it explains about the version
problem.

If your computer skills are as good as your Language skills I am surprised
you can get anything running

I think that your last comment was very out of line based on the
fact that English or American aren't the common languages for many people
that are using this newsgroup. I only speak American and have learned over
the years to try to understand what is meant by what is said or written
without rebuttal.

You can download Nero version 7.5.7 now which should do what you want to do.
You will have to uninstall any previous version that you have installed and
install the update directly. I had UAC disabled but from what I have read I
don't know that it is necessary. The one snag that I had was that it said
that it wanted to install DirectX 9.0C and you had to say yes to get it to
proceed, but it didn't do anything. Once you have it installed then I would
say that you can install your previous data files. It appears like version
7.5.7 is Vista compatible. My hats off to Nero because they could have gone
down the forced upgrade path like some of the other burner applications have.

Thanks for sharing. Although not planning to use Vista, but glad to know
Nero has done this and also will continue to support their products.
