Hi,

I cannot uninstall Nero 9 AG, or whatever it is called. I tried 4
different versions of their tool, tried different registry cleaners,
nothing......

All the removal tools give a run-time error.....

What if I just delete the directory and then clean the registry???

In Vista Home Premium I usually do:

Control Panel>Programs and Features - highlight the program - click
Uninstall

Have you tried this method?

try running the Nero CD. It should give you the option, once it sees you have
Nero folder there, to install, repair, remove, etc.

If nothing else works, try reinstalling the software, then use one of
the tools to uninstall. Make sure you run them as admin.

Are you getting any error messages or some Nero utility seems to be
running according to Task Manager?

DJ,

One for good measure. I use 'Windows Installer CleanUp Utility' to clear the
registry, then you can remove any remnants from Program Files, ProgramData,
AppData, etc.

Hey all, thanks for your suggestions. A few things I have tried with
no success:

1) Registry Mechanic
2) Uninstall from Control Panel
3) Several copies of the Nero remove tool

I think I will try the re-install with repair option, or just re-
install 100%.
If that does not work, then removing the directory will be my last
option.

Or maybe I'll delete it first...??

Thanks!

What ever you do - don't use "Windows Install Cleanup" because I have found
it doesn't quite do the job. Use only the most current uninstall tool by
Nero to uninstall the program. Use build 9.2.6.0 and for me at least, use
the full 100% install except "InCD." That's the only way I could get it to
work flawlessly.

Yeaah, it looks like I was using some version General-
CleanTool_2_2_0_37 or something. Maybe to early of a version?

I'll give it a try and we'll see what happens.....more to come. LOL

Nero takes FOREVER to install, so I'll let you know the results
shortly.....

I've got a fairly quick machine but never-the-less, it took me almost an
hour to install. Greater than an hour if you include the multimedia
packages.

My suggestion was FROM Experience. I spent hours after trying for the 3rdtime
to remove it. I reinstalled Nero 785, and there was STILL 9 screwing stuff up,
until I emptied the registry.

So unless you want the merry go round, you MUST clean the registry, and the
Nero 9 uninstall does not do it.- Hide quoted text -

Well, how to clean the registry? I would not know all the places that
Nero hides stuff. If I delete the entire directory tree, and then run
something like Registry Mechanic, will that fix it?? I'm not sure of
your term "empty the registry" and how it is done....
