Nero Sound Trax won't work for me

I've just installed ADS Instant Music to transcribe my old LPs to CD. This came with Nero6 and when I try to use it I get to the Recording Console and then try to enter the Audio Input Line and all it offers me is Microphone, no Line input, and when I click Digital Monitoring no sound comes through.I haven't even got a Microphone, so this is particularly annoying!

Any ideas what is going wrong? Being a non tech wrinkly I'm not deep into computer technology, but I've followed the instructions carefully, to the extent of trying it on both my PC and my wife's, with the same result on each.

You will find on most PCs, and why Nero is probably looking there also, that the Audio Input Line is the Microphone socket.

Can you point me to the home website of this 'gadget' ?

What OS are you using ? What PC is this ?

Hi Muckshifter

I'm using MS XP on both computers. One PC is a laptop, the other is a home built (by a professional, not me) desktop.

As it's input to the PC is through the USB port it's not going near the microphone socket
