Is this the correct newsgroup to ask a question about the use of Nero
software on a Samsung combo drive, or can someone please steer me in the
right direction. My question concerns Nero directly rather than the
hardware.

After reading your email address, I guess I should have signed off with;

Dudley Henriques
International Fighter Pilots Fellowship
Demonstration and Check Pilot
P51 Mustang
Demonstration Pilot
Grumman F8F Bearcat

"Always wanted to use this signature" Never had the chance before!!!
:-))

Lucky you, which do you like better P51 or Bearcat?

Jim

I used the 51 almost exclusively in airshow demonstration work and liked
the airplane for that purpose. I flew the D with a V1650-7.
The Bear was like a chunk of iron with wings and a big R2800 :-) but had
it's finer points. Bill Fornof was perhaps the finest Cat demo pilot in
the world during his time, and very few pilots could get the performance
out of a Bear that Bill could. Corky, his son, could come close though!!
:-)
Generally, control response in the mid range envelope was satisfactory
in both airplanes. The 51 could tighten up some control wise as the
speeds got further out on the right side.

Did you ever get a chance to fly any of the later generation
of jet fighters?

Did some research work on inertia coupling in the T38 and some testing

Yes. Nero is kind of a mess to get through at the contact level, and
considering I'm an OEM user of InCD anyway, I figured I'd go the Google
route rather than bother Nero. I found (comp.publish.cdrom.software) and
posted there. Someone gave me the exact info I needed.
Thanks much for your interest.

Middle aged diabetes ruined my career, but I always like to
talk airplanes.

You can find quite a few FAQs on the Nero site, maybe you
won't get personal support, but use what is there.

I flew for a few years doing single-pilot Part 135 in
everything from the Beech V35 to the 300 King Air. Have
type ratings in the BE 300/BE 1900 and BE 400/MU400 (aka T1
Jayhawk). Did some pf the flying for the CAT II
certification of the Beechjet. Taught a few flight
instructors for their ratings. Met a few VIPs, Senator Dole
was a good pax as was Olive Ann Beech.

O'Hare was easy in the air single pilot in a F90, but
taxiing was hard, the ABarA Ranch was strange. The PA18-150
was the most fun to fly, never got to fly any of the
fighters. Maybe I'll will the lottery.

I'm done as well; vestibular system gone.
Winning the lottery is one way to go for the fighters. Unfortunately,
when it comes to civilian owners of some warbirds, this is the route
taken :-) Horsepower and brains don't always equate for some of these
people.

Back in the glory days after WWII, you could buy a P51 in a
crate with a couple of engines for the cost of a tank of
fuel today. I understand that the first year or two they
had a 50% crash rate. There was a guy at Springfield, ILL
(my home town) who had a P51. He was on the ground during a
touch and go, when the radiator blew. He tried to take it
around and died. Had he closed the throttle he'd have been
around to repair the radiator.

I've never seen a radiator "blow" on a 51. Usually it's in the coolant
tubing or fittings. The smart folks pay the freight and get Aeroquip.
The coolant high end temp is 121 degrees. It would take a complete fool
to not notice a coolant problem in a 51. The normal position for the rad
switches is auto and there's a there's a pop off relief valve that
should go long before it fails.
But you're right. If something went on a touch and go, take off power
even at METO is 46" and 2700RPM and this would certainly overtemp the
engine on a go around. If he used full power which is 61" at 3000RPM
with a coolant failure and the switch not in open, the chances of
digging a hole are pretty high if the prop seizes during rotation, as
it's here that you get huge P factor and gyroscopic precession as the
airplane rotates in pitch. I can easily see a tip snagging in this
scenario with a real cartwheel following that could REALLY spoil your
day!
The 51 flies like a pussycat, IF, and that's a big IF, you know what the
hell you're doing. This guy apparently didn't. Shame!
D

Ruined a good airplane. When I said radiator I just meant
the cooling system, probably was a fitting, there was a
survivor that said the cockpit has steam.

Anyway, we'd best drop the subject, this is a computer
forum.
