While you very well might be right, why can't he have the benefit of the
doubt? Not everyone is a pirate. It's perfectly legal, and within the
restrictions of the EULA to make a copy of a WinXP CD. Let's say, for
instance, that he does not have a CD-RW drive. So he gave his XP disk to a
friend to burn for him. His friend copied the XP disk and wrote it to an
..nrg file on the new disk. Then he gives the OP his disks back. Legal.
Within the EULA. Don't be so quick to judge. It may turn out that you're
right, but don't accuse him until you know the facts.

PS this is not an outrageous situation, I've seen it happen. My parents
bought XP and wanted a backup copy, so my sister did this. She doubt she
created a Nero Image file, but the premise is the same.
