I am a computer scaredy-cat so please be gentle with your responses.
I have had my pc for 2 years and it runs Windows XP Home with SP2; Microsoft
Office 2003; and Nero Burning 6.3.1.25. These were all loaded on my pc when I
bought it and it didn't come with any discs so I can't uninstall and
re-install any of it. The on-line company from whom I bought it no longer
trades.
I am a dance teacher and use Nero to burn a individual tracks onto a
compilation CD to take to classes. In the last 6 months my pc has crashed
when using Nero. I started burning at slower speeds which helped originally,
but now it is happening again at the slow level. It can be anything between
45% complete and 100% complete (even up to the tah-dah sound!) but suddenly
closes down with a fatal error. The blue screen is now showing the error
report BAD_POOL_CALLER and on restarting I always get a FAT32 problem report.
I have not added anything new to my pc except the usual windows updates. Can
anyone help please?

I think you are going to need to find & see a good pc tech.
The symptoms in total point to possible hardware issues, at least as you
describe them.
First, the PC innards may need to have the accumulated dust removed to aid
in cooling. Second,
The CD Drive may be slowly dying. The "bad_pool_caller" error can be a
memory related error, or a driver related problem.
