Nero and Two Sony dvd/record drives

Okay, if I uninstalled the Nero that came with my sony drives, will my
drives still run?

I don't want to pay for the Nero upgrade if I don't have to.

Yes, they will still work. You won't have the option to burn ISO's, though.

There is a way to burn iso images for free.
Download this program:
http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/Vista.htm
It is very lightweight and has both 32bit and 64bit versions.
