Nero 7.2.0.3: install impossible?

Hello

I've just reinstalled Vista to build 5365 (and generated an Ultimate
key instead of the Home Premium one I was using before, I need the
remote desktop).
So far, no real problem during the windows setup. Nothing a quick boot
in safe mode could resolve.
Now, as everyone, I have to reinstalled the lots of applications I
daily use.
Then it's Nero's turn. I download the last update, v7.2.0.3, launch it,
it decompresses the files in
c:\users\my_user\AppData\Local\Temp\NeroDemo9918, then... nothing. No
installshield-like to install Nero.
I tried going in the temp folder where Nero has been extracted: lots of
file, and we can see Nero.msi and SetupX.exe.
If I try double-click on Nero.msi, it says it has to be launched by
SetupX.exe, then you just have a Finish button.
If I try to launch SetupX.exe, nothing happens.
I've tried in command line to launch it this way: "SetupX.exe
Nero.msi", still nothing.
Did anyone succeed to install the last version of Nero? And no WIndows
popup asking if the program installed successfully or saying that there
was a problem.
Thank you for your help

Christophe

PS: I tried only with UAP deactivated

I wonder how many 32-bit tool builders are interested in doing 64-bit
port to Vista....

I installed the latest version 6 of Nero on my laptop running 5365 x64
with no problems. Try running the installer as admin, right click and
run as administrator.

What's that got to do with anything that cf posted?

Nero-7.2.0.3 has a 64-bit port?

still using 32-bit Win2K. I got 30 years to wait at least before
switching to 64-bit on/before 2038. But by then, I might be too old to
use a computer... hmm....

I'll precise, to bypass wrong questions/answers:

It is Vista 5365 32bit, with 32 bit (don't even know if there's a
64bit) nero 7.2.0.3, on a pentium 4c (32bit cpu) 2.8GHz CPU

So, nothing to do with any 64bit thing (cpu/nero/vista)

I installed the latest version 6 of Nero on my laptop running 5365 x64 with
no problems. Try running the installer as admin, right click and run as
administrator.

Yep, but I'm asking about Nero 7.2.0.3 (SEVEN dot TWO dot ...) on
32-bit VISTA 5365 ;)

I know, was just saying :) I haven't bothered with 7, saw no need for it :)
Have you tried right clicking and running as admin?

I've found the solution thanks to our best friend: Google.
Open a cmd.exe with admin rights, and go into
C:\Users\your_user\AppData\Local\Temp\NeroDemo9918 folder

Then run:
msiexec.exe /i "Nero.msi" USERSEL="6" STARTMODE="-1" FAMILYNAME=""
STARTPARAM="CallFromExe" DONOTRUNSETUPX="1"

This time, the setup is really launched!
