Negative time values

I am preparing a time card calculation worksheet that the
administrator can simply type in the start and finish
times and it will calculate the elapsed time for each work
day. To minimize the typing, I have built in the lunch
hour (12:00-12:30) to be subtracted from the total. I
want the spreadsheet to calculate the weekly subtotals and
payperiod totals. The problem is that if a person does not
work on a particular day, the total hours for that day
comes up -.50 for the lunch hour. Is there a way to use
the IF statement to convert negative values to zero and
not change positive values?
