OK, I've had enough! Well, not really.
But boy I wish I had have done some more research into other SLI boards. I
really regret just completely passing on a Gigabyte model.

Anywho, I'm starting to hate this board.
This is just my little recommendation for people considering it out
there...for me it hasn't been a pleasant experience.

I just shut down. Went to start up again and oh wow the noise coming from
the 'puter was ???? Realised it was the motherboard chip fan!! Bizarre....I
gently rested my finger on the fan's spindle, thus causing it to stop
spinning, then released it and the fan resumed normal operation. I dunno,
maybe the fan just jumped out of its track or something.

*sigh*

So yeah...A8N-SLI....not a great board IMHO.

The fan is a known issue. Asus will send you a new fan, without
the bother of a three week RMA process. The replacement spins a
bit slower, and is a different design. (The Premium board fixes
this issue, by using a heat pipe - but you still need air from
the CPU fan to keep the end of the heat pipe cooled on the
Premium.)

Really? OK....I'll have hunt around and contact Asus about this.
Even still...the fact that it's a 'known problem' just makes it even more
annoying!!!
