Needed a really cheap supplier of cartridges for the Epson RX500.

TO481, TO481, TO483, TO484, TO485, TO486

I have had a look around cheapest I can see is about £15 EACH, problem is there is 6 carts :(

I have considered buying copys or trying to get them refilled as I dont really do any pro printing work or printing that would need full quality but i'm a little unsure. Also I cant use the unit at all as long as only open cartridge is low.
Complete and utter Barstewards they are.

Any ideas girls and boys?

You could probably pick a compatible set of all of those for less than a tenner - I'd say thats worth a shot :) I've had mixed experience with compatibles, but if you print fairly regularly you should be fine :D I've only had problems after leaving my printer for months and then trying (but I suppose all carts would do that).

To save £80 I'd give them a go :)

Yeah thst just the problem I dont print a lot sometimes weeks inbetween each page. So im not sure what to do!

I'd give it a shot personally, but wait and see if anyone has any experience with using refills in a photo printer like this first. I've used them in cheapy printers and my Canon Photo, and both were fine.

Yeah there is a cartridge world just up the road from me, I may pop in and have a word. Thanks m8 ;)

Dunno if this will help but, on 'The Gadget Show' a while back they did a comparison of the different ink carts for an epson photo printer. I forget the exact model number, sorry

They used some cheap ones, the proper Epson ones and some from 'Cartridge Monkey' The test were quality of the prints, how many they got out of the cartridge and the 'fade' test.

Well the results were that the Epson ones were the best but the most expensive. But they rated the Cartridge Monkey ones very highly. The difference between them and the offical ones were barly noticeable. The big difference was the price. Again i cant remember how much, sorry it was on a while ago.

The guy doing the review was Jon Bentley, and he knows his stuff.

I've put the links below for you to have a look at, sadly there's no mention on the Gadget Show website of the tests.

Hope thats of some help to you. :)

i had C82 a while back, one of the first to use durabrite ink or whatever it was called. It was basically a way of making you pay £20-£30 for 4 diferent cartridges, instead of £20 for combined colour

anyway the 'copatable' cartridges completely buggered the printer, so we chucked it and bought an hp all in one, which is great.
