I've got 20+ years experience, and lots of it over the last few years
in .NET. I do not yet have a certification of any kind, and it's about
time I did something about that. My focus is primarily Web development
in ASP.NET, but I also do plenty of Windows development.

What I'm looking for is the books that you folks have found the most
helpful and most accurate in helping you prep for your .NET MCSD
certification, or which are most up-to-date for the current
certification process. What do you most strongly recommend, and why?

Thanks in advance!

You probably mean for your .Net MCTS or MCPD as the VS.net 2005 exams do not
have the MCSD status annymore

I prepare myself with the official self paced training kits and with
selftestsoftware http://www.selftestsoftware.com/

why ?? well the books are the official learning books so everything i need
to now to pass the exams should be there and for selftestsoftware well it
is an exact replica of the exams that you are gonna do so it is a great tool
to test of you are ready for the reall thing plus it has verry helpfull
hints and explanations for questions you did not answer correctly

This loooks great and all, but it assumes that you already know the
material. There are distinct gaps in my knowledge (something I should
have made clear) due to the fact that I've been stuck working in .NET
1.1 for the last 2.5 years. I need to get up to speed in .NET 2.0 as
well. So any pointers you could provide for that would also be
helpful.

Other than that, the product looks great, and very affordable!

If you take a practice selftest exam , to test your knowledge it will show
you in the wrong answered question a good explanation and the books where to
find this knowledge .

I just test with the MS self paced training kits and i own the diverse MS
press core reference guides so i can always use these as a reference to get
my information
