Need Windows Updater Update?

I've been running Windows AntiSpyware for some time. I just realized it has
expired. I assume Windows Defender is the new version. I downloaded the WD
..msi file. When I try to execute it, I get a dialog: A required update to
Windows Update is available at the Windows Update website. ...

I can't find a Windows Update website. When I search for a Windows Update
download, I get almost 4000 items.

What do I need and where can I find it?

BTW, I use Firefox, not IE.

Can you go to Windows Update, do an Express scan, and apply all offered
updªtes
http://update.microsoft.com
Once that is finished, can you verify the update installs? There are many
pre-requisite files which are needed from windows update and signature
update with windows defender will fail until you hªve these files.

automatically then. It then worked as you said.

Is there a way to get the latest Windows Update DLLs if you have no internet
connection?

If the installation of Windows Defender was good there should be a direct
link to the prerequisites so you can download it and install them manually.
In corporate situations where Windows Update and installation is disable by
Group Policies it is necessary to do it this way.
