Just a thought; I have a lexar jump drive and the autorun.ini starts a
security program - it might be interfering with your usb or not.

First thing I did was delete the autorun.ini - load it in a text
editor to see what it runs.

I really have no clue how to do that. Will you please enlightening me
..I have followed the instructions on the USB PROBLEM thread and deleted
the hidden stuff but when I plug the printer back in first it comes up
unknown device then mass storage device pops up.It still says the
printer is not hooked up.
Thanks for taking time to try to help me

It might not be your problem at all, or it could.

When you insert your lexar jump drive it runs a security program so
your usb files are accessabe by only you. read the autorun.ini on the
jump drive to see what program is run and disable it.

Other things you can do

Start | Run <type in> msinfo32 <enter>
Look for problems

Start | Run <type in> devmgmt.msc <enter>
in the USB area double click on each entry and look for errors or
problems.

Everest might also be of use

Maybe you really did blow out your USB,

Take the cover off the PC find out where the USB plugs into the board
and test for voltage (Multimeter).

If none, it's out, you save some service charges and use it for
another board.

The usb works because it says unknown and mass storage device when its
plugged into the port.Im just not computer literate enough to figure
this out.I appreciate the help i just dont know what else to do.The
jumpdrive did not change anything on the other computer just this one.
thanks
