I have been having numerous problems with my XP Program. I
think it is caused by a Download Trojan virus which can
not be fixed by my Norton Virus program. Keep getting
message that Internet Explorer has encountered a problem
and needs to close. Tech support person said I probably
need to uninstall XP and reinstall it. I have never done
this before. He said when I reinstall it, it will figure
its own partitions. I updated to XP last year and still
have Windows 98 installation files on my computer. He said
I would need to do something about the partitions for this
program. Could anyone write and let me know what I have to
do to reinstall XP and keep my 98 installation files
which, or if I decide to uninstall XP and not reinstall it
what I have to do to reinstall my Windows 98 program.
Thank you in advance for any assistance.

You can download all internet explorer dwnloads, and re-
install, its worth the effort.Otherwise with 98 on xp
youd need to reinstall both, use FDisk to format the hd.
You can boot to xp cd,recovery, format, then reboot to
cd and install xp solo.
Also open event viewer for details on int.explorer and
why its shutting down, fixing would be alot easier.
