Help, we uploaded pictures from our digital camera, erased the memory card and went on to take more pictures. Uploaded them, duplicate file names, chose to overwrite, shouldn't have. Is there a way to recover the overwritten files? Tried System restore, no luck. The odd thing is that the thumnails are the pictures that I want to recover, but when you open them you get the newer overwrite.

System Restore only works with system (not data) files. Unlikely, but
look in Recycle Bin. Otherwise, without specialty un-delete programs,
you may be out of luck.

there are undelete programs but since you have written data to the drive the
chances are lower!

Norton has a good unease as does winternals!
There are also utilities to unease files from digital media
