Need to restore old Outlook contacts if possible (2007)

Several months ago, I upgraded my corrupt, dual boot computer to
Windows 7. In doing so (maybe I had to reinstall Office--I can't
remember) I lost all my contacts--business cards and custom groups. I
didn't think I would need them, so I moved on. Since then I've built
new folders, added a new email address, and so on, but I now need the
old contacts.

I want to, if possible, restore my old contacts without deleting any
of my folders, etc. Before upgrading to Win7, I saved my entire
Outlook folder, containing all of my .pst files. However, there is
more than one in my old file and my new file. Most of the message
boards I've searched say to "restore your .pst file" or "open and view
your .pst files" but I have many, and opening does not show the old
contacts. Please help.

First, make sure you're using the Folder List view of the Navigation Pane so
you can see all the folders. Then, if when you open the PSTs with
File>Open>Outlook Data File you do not see a Contacts folder in the PST's
folder list, there isn't one. If you did carry your old PST over,
eventually you'll find it and the contacts will be in it.
