Need to repair messaging interface has returned an unknown error

I always get this message 'messaging interface has returned an unknown error'
when I click on my inbox. I can see that I have a lot of mails sitting in
here but can not read them, can anyone help, please

Hard to say what is going on here without any configuration details to work
with.

Version of Outlook?
Type of mail account?
Does it work in Outlook Safe Mode?
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe

If so, it's probably caused by an add-in that you have installed.
