Can anyone help? I have installed XP on to my computer,
although now I realise that the computer is probably not
advanced enough to run the system. I want to revert to
Windows 98. However I cannot boot in DOS and my floppy
drive isn't working since I put the XP on, so I cannot
bott from a disk. What can I do? I want to wipe the hard
drive and start again but I can't seem to do this.

If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Win98's CD is bootable. Just boot to that and fdisk the drive, and
install 98.

Hello

Well if you have a win98, win me or win98se cdrom place it
in your cdrom drive. Most important beforew start this ok
if you have any IMPORTANT DATA back it up first.

1. Go into your cpu Bios Setup Screen
2. Make the cdrom the Primary BootDevice 1
3. You will ahve to look a little for this option
4. Once you made the cdrom Bootdevice 1
5. Reboot pc with Win98 etc cdrom in
6. And it will walk you througth the steps as of what to
do.

Booting from a diskette would have nothing at all to do
with XP. A floppy drive is legacy hardware. Check in
your BIOS for boot sequence. If you have an older MB
it probably should be set to A,C,SCSI. When it does
boot up you will have to run FDISK and delete the
partitions first. (DOS or NON-DOS) then format.
Be sure that your bootdisk has CDROM support.
