Need to recover a saved-over file

I mistakenly saved over a file and need to recover the previous file. Can
anyone help me on this?

Unfortunately I don't think you can recover the information stored once it
has been overwritten unless a MVP can correct me on this. I'm not sure if
this feature works in excel but in word you can save all versions of a file
created, I did this recently with a peice of coursework which I kept changing
and so I could always go back to a previous issue, however I'm not sure if
the feature works in Excel.
