I have a master template that is rather plain. I will be getting slides from
multiple authors that need to be converted into the master template. What are
the best conversion methods for doing this quickly. I suspect their photos
will all be different sizes and placements. etc. I will probably need to
spruce up the template with a master title slide, etc. but I think this would
come at the end.

The easiest way would be to find a computer with Office 2003 and create a
2003 version of your master template there. Plus a 2007 template version on
your computer. Create both from scratch, starting with a white slide, you
may copy images, do not copy font formatting. Distribute these two templates
to your authors and ask them to insert their content into it. To make it
easier, you can also distribute a design guideline to them, if you have
time.

Then import their slides into your presentation using "Reuse slides". The
slides they created in your new master template should import well, even if
they used 2003. If they send slides using a different template, you will
have to adjust them one by one.

Best regards,
Ute
