Hi All,

Please help me out with the steps to lock 2 specific rows in a sheet.
All other rows should have full access for all users and only 2
specific rows should be given with read access..

I tried,
All cells were formatted with no locked option
2 rows which require read only access was selected with locked
formatting
Then chose protect workshhet with password
But this one locks the entire worksheet

PLz help..

With Regards,
Sivaji

You'll have to lock the cells that you want locked and unlock the cells that
should not be locked. Unless you've done something different, the default is
locked for each cell.

Then you'll have to protect the worksheet -- else the lockedness of each cell
won't matter.

And depending on the version of excel, you'll be able to set the granularity of
what kind of changes can be made to these unlocked cells. You'll see those
options in the protect sheet dialog.

Be aware that there are lots of things that can't be done on a protected worksheet.

If you have trouble, you may want to be more specific about what version of
excel you're using and how each row/cell should be locked (what should be
allowed and what shouldn't).
