The other day the cd rom drive was working fine, meaning able to read the cd
rom and eject without any problem. However, in one ofthe opertion while it
was reading the cd rom, I stop the operation by pressing the eject button in
front. Now, the drive does not seems to response to any of the command. It
will not eject whhen I push the button or using right click cd drive>eject.
When I manually open it by pushing thru the front hole, it will eject but
the problem remains when connect/on the pc... it will not eject. Does that
means my cd rom drive is gone or is there any other thing I can do. (The pc
detected the cd rom drive). Thanks for your help.

You could, in Device Manager, locate the drive, remove it & reboot.
If it still doesnt work, then apart from loose connections, its probably
toast, as Dave states

1: Fully SHUT DOWN the computer and wait a minute, then power it back
up. This will let the drive completely reset. Sometimes, it can lock up
and not respond to an electronic reset signal.

2: See if it shows up in Device Manager. If so, try deleting it, then
rebooting and letting Windows redetect it.

3: Make certain it didn't shift drive letters for some reason.

Many thanks for your suggestions and looks like I need to get a new one since
none of the above work.

The last thing to try is to double-check all the connections.
Unplug/replug everything on the drive to make certain you have clean
contacts.
