Is there anyway I can install notepad without the XP
disk? I am at college and don't have it with me, but I
need the program!

Thanks,
Emilie

Why don't you download and install a work-alike program from the Web? There
are literally thousands of text editors out there for free, many of them
much better than Notepad. Or use WordPad (always installed when you install
XP.)

Find some here: http://downloads-zdnet.com.com/3150-2351-0.html

There's not much Notepad. Find someone else at school with Windows XP and
get a copy of the notepad.exe file from them. Before using it - check it
for viruses by scanning it with an antivirus program that is using current
virus definitions. If it comes up clean, place the file in your
Windows\system32\ folder.

If you still have your old shortcut for Notepad, it should start that
program. Or you could just create a new shortcut for it.
